When do you replace a seal kit?

Leakage is the best-known signal, but not the only one. What to look for in seals in pumps and cylinders.

External leakage is the clearest sign that seals are due for replacement. Less visible, but at least as important, is internal leakage: the system becomes slower, builds up less pressure or the oil temperature rises. During an overhaul, always replace the complete seal kit and not just the visibly damaged seal. The other seals have made the same running hours and are often just as worn. We supply seal kits and shaft seals for Sauer SPV and MPV units and many other brands, among others. If you do not know the type number, we will work it out together.
